1:48 MiG-29K BASIC kabuki masks is the basic New Ware mask set for the MiG-29K carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set 1:48 MiG-29K BASIC kabuki masks is an accessory for painting a model, not a kit. It contains masking parts cut from kabuki material, that is from the thin Japanese tape used in modeling to bound the areas that are meant to stay free of paint while spraying. New Ware offers its mask sets in three levels of extent marked BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT; BASIC is the smallest of the three and the simplest entry into the series.
The MiG-29K is a carrier-based multirole fighter derived from the land-based MiG-29 version. For operation from aircraft carriers it was given strengthened landing gear, an arrester hook, folding outer wing panels and extensive anti-corrosion treatment of the structure. It takes off from a ski jump, so it has to manage a takeoff on a short run with a full load. It is in service with the Russian and the Indian naval aviation and it belongs among the few types that can operate carrier aviation in this category.
The set is intended for modelers who are building the MiG-29K in 1:48 scale and want the frames of the canopy bounded accurately, without measuring out and cutting tape by hand. The BASIC level is a sensible choice when what you mainly need is to settle the glazing and you do not need the most extensive version of the set.
