A basic set of painting masks of kabuki tape for a model of the Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale, code NWAM1180.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II is a single-seat attack aircraft intended to support ground units, built around heavy gun armament. The A-10C version brought a modernized cockpit with digital equipment and the use of precision-guided munitions. Among modelers the nickname Warthog has taken hold for the aircraft. The canopy glazing takes up a large area on a model, so the quality of the masking matters a great deal.
The set contains painting masks cut out of kabuki tape. It is a thin paper tape with a sensitive adhesive, which adapts well to a shape and leaves no residue on the surface once peeled off. The masks are cut to the measure of the given areas, so measuring and cutting by hand falls away. The extent of the basic version, which carries the word BASIC in the name, is specified in the manufacturer's instructions.
First rid the surface of dust and grease, then lay the masks on and press their edges down carefully so that no paint runs under them. Only then spray, and in thin layers. Once the paint has dried, take the masks off with tweezers, pulling at a slant along the surface, not with a straight tug upward.
The set is cut for a certain kit. Check from the code on the box and from the manufacturer's instructions which model it belongs to, so that the masks really fit the parts.
For modelers who want clean canopy frames and sharp transitions of the colors and do not want to lose time cutting masks out by eye.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
