A detail accessory from the SPACE line in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit but a combination of colored 3D decals and steel photo-etched parts that lifts the cockpit of the Northrop F-5E Tiger light fighter. The set contains 3D decals for the main instrument panel and the side panels, plus steel photo-etched seat belts, all in a colored finish ready for quick application.
The SPACE line combines a three-dimensional decal with pre-printed colors and lettering, so the instrument panel gains realistic depth and legible dials without laborious hand painting. The steel photo-etched seat belts add the last few percent of fidelity to the cockpit, and being steel they hold the shape of the folds. The result is a markedly richer pilot's compartment that catches the eye at once in an open cockpit.
Degrease the surfaces where the elements will go and give them a smooth clear coat. With a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, moisten only the backing paper, lift the element off with tweezers, slide it into place and fix it with PVA glue (white glue). A decal softener does not belong here, as it attacks the print and would ruin the element. Cut the photo-etched belts off the fret, shape them and glue them with a tiny drop of super glue, though the manufacturer does not recommend it for the 3D elements. Once dry, the surface can be unified with a matte clear coat. Work with tweezers and a sharp knife.
