A set of replacement tracks from Friulmodel in 1:35 scale for the Swedish Strv 103 B tank. The product is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. It replaces the tracks supplied in the box and allows a more faithful shape of link and a more natural lie of the track on the running gear.
The Strv 103, known as the S-tank, was an exception among postwar tanks. It had no rotating turret and the gun was fixed in the hull, so aiming was done by turning the whole vehicle and tilting the hull with an adjustable suspension. The design came out of the Swedish idea of defending their own territory: a low silhouette, an emphasis on firing from prepared positions and quick movement into cover. Among other things, the B version brought changes to the powerplant and the equipment. An unusual layout also means unusual-looking running gear, which is clearly visible on a model.
The set is intended for modelers who are building the Strv 103 B in 1:35 scale and want to take the model beyond the contents of the box. It will be appreciated above all by builders of dioramas and of competition models, where the detail of the running gear is judged close up.
