1:48 MiG-21bis/MF/MFN/PFM/R/SMT BASIC kabuki masks is a New Ware masking set in 1:48 scale at the BASIC level for a wide group of MiG-21 versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a masking set in 1:48 scale from New Ware, not an aircraft model. It serves to cover the areas that are to stay clean after spraying, so that the glazing frames come out sharp. The name states the designation kabuki masks and the level BASIC, the smallest in scope of the levels of coverage in use; the brand also makes the ADVANCED and EXPERT levels for the same group of versions. The name lists no fewer than six MiG-21 versions, because these are machines with a closely related canopy shape.
The MiG-21 is one of the most widely built jet fighters in history and was made in many progressively improved versions. The PFM introduced a sideways-opening canopy, the MF and SMT brought a more powerful engine and a greater fuel load, the R was the reconnaissance variant and the bis closed the development line as the highest-performing production version. The MFN designation was carried by machines upgraded for service in European countries. Thanks to the enormous production run and dozens of operators, the MiG-21 offers an inexhaustible supply of interesting color schemes.
