A masking set made of kabuki paper for a model of the Yak-28PP Brewer-E in 1:48 scale, at the extent the manufacturer calls basic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yak-28 was a Soviet twin-engined jet aircraft with a high-set wing and unusual landing gear arranged one unit behind the other on the fuselage axis. The version designated PP, known in the West under the name Brewer-E, was intended for electronic warfare, that is for jamming enemy radars. It differed from the bomber versions mainly in its equipment, which called for changes to the fuselage and further covers on the surface.
The masks are cut from kabuki paper, that is from a thin material with a lightly tacky layer that takes to a curve well and tends to come off clean. The shapes match the glazing of the model, so the slowest part of the work falls away, namely cutting strips and laying them along the cockpit frames. The manufacturer calls the extent of the set basic; what the package holds exactly is given in the instructions on the packaging.
For modelers who build the Yak-28PP in 1:48 scale and want sharp cockpit frames without patient cutting. The time saved shows above all on glazing with many frames. The package holds a masking set; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
