The 1:48 JAS-39 Gripen Tigermeet 2023, Hungarian Air Force decal set from HAD models brings the special scheme of the Hungarian Gripen for models in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set for models of the Swedish Saab JAS 39 Gripen fighter in 1:48 scale from the Hungarian brand HAD models. It is neither a kit nor a part, but a decal sheet that is laid onto the finished paintwork of a model. It focuses on the special scheme of the Hungarian Air Force connected with the Tiger Meet gathering in 2023. The number of schemes on the sheet and its size are stated on the box of the set.
The Gripen is a Swedish single-engine fourth-generation multirole fighter with a canard layout, that is with small additional surfaces ahead of the wing. The Hungarian Air Force operates both the single-seat and the two-seat version and is among the European operators of the type. The Tiger Meet is a traditional international exercise at which air units carrying a tiger in their badge gather every year, and it is accompanied by strikingly painted machines. These special schemes are among the most sought-after subjects in modern aircraft modeling, because they turn an otherwise unremarkable gray fighter into a striking exhibit.
Large-area special schemes are demanding to place, because they have to follow on exactly across edges and transitions. Lay them onto gloss varnish, one element at a time and with plenty of water, so that they can still be moved on the surface. Use a softener only once the decal is exactly in place. Let extensive subjects dry thoroughly and only then spray them over with a clear varnish to the degree of gloss you want.
For modelers who build the Gripen in 1:48 scale and want to build it in an eye-catching special scheme instead of the usual gray. The set holds no model and no plastic parts.
