1:48 LUFTWAFFE BOMBER - SEATBELTS are fabric seat harnesses from the maker HGW for the cockpits of German bombers in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the Czech maker HGW holds fabric seat harnesses intended for the crew stations of German bomber aircraft. It is an interior accessory, not an aircraft kit: it is fitted into the cockpit of a model in 1:48 scale that you build separately.
A bomber has several seats and glazed areas through which the cockpit can be seen from more than one side, unlike a fighter. The interior therefore carries a larger share of the final impression. A fabric strap can be bent and left to fall loose across the edge of the seat, so it looks like a belt someone has just unfastened. A stiff part from the kit cannot manage that, and in a glazed cockpit it usually shows.
German bombers of the Second World War had extensive glazed nose cockpits and crews of several men. The harnesses therefore tell in more places than on a single-seat aircraft, and it pays to fit them before the fuselage is closed. The set also suits when you are building a model with the entries open or as part of a diorama where the cockpit can be looked into from outside. Before fitting, it pays to compare the shape of the harnesses with the seats of the particular model and to lay out which strap will run where and where it will be anchored.
