A set of decals and painting masks in 1:32 scale for the Mustangs of No. 303 Squadron. An accessory for a plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mustang is an American single-seat fighter aircraft of the Second World War with a piston V12 engine and a radiator under the fuselage. It was one of the few Allied fighter aircraft with range enough to escort bomber formations over Germany. With No. 303 Squadron of the RAF, which was made up of Polish pilots, the Mustangs came into their own at the close of the war and carried striking national insignia and personal markings.
The set combines two things: a decal sheet with the markings and painting masks for the same scheme. The masks are meant for covering the areas that are sprayed with paint, the decals for applying the fine items. The exact number of machines and the extent of the masks are specified in the instructions supplied with the set.
Stick the masks onto a clean surface before spraying, press the edges down and apply the paint in thin layers, so that it does not creep under them. Take them off shortly after the paint has dried. The decals come only onto smooth gloss varnish: cut the item out close to the printing, immerse it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it onto the model. Before you dip the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version: a self-adhesive film that has been dipped is ruined. Finally even the surface out with varnish.
For modelers who build large aircraft models in 1:32 scale and want their national insignia sharp and without the edges of a decal.
The package holds decals and masks. The kit, the paints and the varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
