A pair of models in 1:32 scale: the piloted version of the German Fi 103 missile under the Reichenberg designation and the Japanese piloted Ohka.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fi 103 is a German guided missile from the end of the Second World War, known to the public under the designation V-1. It was powered by a pulsejet engine mounted in a tube above the rear of the fuselage. The Reichenberg was its piloted, reworked form with a cockpit for a man. The Ohka is a Japanese piloted rocket-powered weapon which a bomber carried toward the target and which covered the last stretch of the flight on its own. According to the name, the package holds both.
Both machines are small, so even in 1:32 scale the models stay modest in size and will fit into an ordinary display case. The scale is nevertheless enough to work out the cramped cockpit, which is the most interesting part of both. Side by side you can see how two sides of the war arrived at a similar purpose by completely different routes: they differ in propulsion, in structure and in the way they were brought to the target.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the edges stay sharp. The surface of both machines is largely smooth, so it pays to give time to preparing the base; under a uniform coat every irregularity shows. Paint and fit the interior of the cockpit before you close the fuselage. The manufacturer's instructions give the recommended shades and the building procedure.
For collectors of aircraft from the end of the Second World War and for builders drawn to unusual designs. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
