An injection-molded plastic model of the American light carrier attack aircraft Douglas A-4E Skyhawk in 1:32 scale from the Trumpeter brand. It is a modern tooling with rich surface detail; besides the plastic, the box holds photo-etched parts, metal landing gear legs and rubber tires. The model offers an optional treatment of the spine, with or without the later avionics hump, and engine panels that can be opened.
The A-4 Skyhawk was a compact single-seat carrier attack aircraft with a characteristic delta wing, whose small dimensions made it possible to do without folding wings and to save space on the deck. The A-4E version brought a more powerful engine and further pylons for weapons. The Skyhawk became famous as a reliable and agile lightweight of the attack force and served in a number of countries for many decades. Thanks to its low weight and simple maintenance it earned a nickname taken from its designer.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched and metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the cockpit, the engine bay and the landing gear bays before closing the airframe; mask the glazing. Fit the external stores and the weapons according to the instructions and apply the paints with an airbrush in thin coats over a primer.
