Three-dimensional decals for the instruments and the panels: Eduard SPACE 1:32 A6M5 Zero joins 3D decals with steel seat belts for the cockpit of the Japanese fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
SPACE is a newer way to get color and three-dimensional detail into an interior with no bending of metal. The basis is 3D decals for the main instrument panel and for the side panels, that is decals with a layered structure which have the gauges, the levers and the plates printed in relief. They are complemented by a photo-etched set of seat belts in steel.
The Type 52, as the Japanese name of this version ran, came into being in 1943 as an answer to the growing performance of American fighters. The Zero was given a shortened wing with rounded tips for a higher speed in a dive and individual exhaust pipes whose thrust added a few kilometers per hour. The Sakae 21 powerplant stayed and so did the agility, but armor for the pilot and self-sealing tanks continued to be missing from the machine.
The area under a decal has to be smooth and painted gloss, otherwise silvering will appear under the layer. Only the carrier paper is moistened, the decal is lifted off with tweezers and fixed with white glue; do not use a softener, as it would damage the printed resin. Once it has dried, go over the whole thing with matte varnish, so that the surface in the cockpit does not stay glossy.
The item offered completes a kit of the Zero; it does not contain the plastic parts themselves.
