A photo-etched detailing set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended for the plastic kit of the Alouette II light helicopter in 1:32 scale from Revell. It is not a helicopter model, but a package of thin metal parts that replace and supplement the plastic elements and give the finished build fine detail. The etched parts refine above all the cabin, the instruments and the open truss structure behind the cabin.
The Alouette II was a French light multipurpose helicopter and one of the first production helicopters with a turboshaft engine. Thanks to its reliability and low weight it spread all over the world and served for observation, liaison, training, rescue and light transport with civilian and military operators alike.
The etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The open structure of the Alouette II is rewarding for etched parts, because fine metal sections look more realistic than plastic. Straight bends are more accurate with a photo-etch bending tool.
This is an accessory set, not a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
