Kits-World 1:32 Avro Lancaster General Markings is a decal sheet with general markings for models of the British four-engine Avro Lancaster bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from the British manufacturer Kits-World in 1:32 scale, focused on the general markings of an Avro Lancaster model. The General Markings designation means that the sheet does not deal with one particular machine but with generally usable elements that recur on the aircraft regardless of the code letter of the individual example. It is not a kit. The exact extent of the markings is shown by the illustration on the packaging, and we recommend going through it before buying.
The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engine heavy bomber from the period of the Second World War, powered by Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines. In design terms it came from a twin-engine predecessor and was marked by a long undivided bomb bay and twin vertical tail surfaces. The machines were deployed above all in night operations, and besides national insignia and code letters their outer surface carried numerous technical stencils as well: details of pressures, filler ports, access panels and handling points.
A sheet of general markings contains a lot of tiny lettering, and it is exactly that which decides the final impression. Work with smooth-jawed tweezers, soak the pieces one at a time and carry them onto the model on the tip of a damp brush. Small lettering will not take being slid about dry: there must be a drop of water under the decal. Compare the placement with the illustration beforehand and work through the aircraft section by section, otherwise you will lose track among the many identical-looking pieces. Once dry, check the edges against the light and pierce any bubbles with the tip of a knife, after which go over the spot with decal softener.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
