A photo-etched set from Eduard in 1:32 scale for refining the landing flaps of the Boeing B-17E/F Flying Fortress heavy bomber. It is not an airplane model, but a set of fine metal parts that the modeler builds into a plastic kit.
Real landing flaps have a thin ribbed structure that plastic parts can manage only to a limited degree. Photo-etch makes it possible to create flaps with a realistic thickness and ribbing drawn out properly, and to show them in the lowered position if you wish.
Snip the parts off at the fret, form the bends over a photo-etch bending tool and fix the joints with super glue. Degrease the parts before painting and go over them with a base coat. For a faithful position of the flaps, compare the shape against reference documentation beforehand.
This is an accessory, not a model on its own. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
