A large-format injection-molded plastic kit of the Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress heavy bomber in 1:32 scale from HK Models (Hong Kong). It is an extensive model with fine engraved as well as raised detail, a worked-out interior, a bomb bay and a photo-etched sheet for the extra parts. Given its span it is among the largest aircraft kits on the market and is the flagship of a collection.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was a four-engine heavy bomber of the US Army. The B-17G version, built in large numbers, received a nose gun turret and became the symbol of daylight strategic bombing over Europe. Heavy defensive armament, a tough structure and the ability to return even badly damaged earned it the reputation of an exceptionally resilient aircraft.
Finish and paint the extensive interior and the bomb bay before you close the fuselage; the upper part of the fuselage can be left removable for a view inside. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and spray the parts with an airbrush over a primer. For a natural metal finish, metallic paints applied over a smooth polished base work well. Because of the size and weight of the model, make sure the main assemblies are glued firmly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
