It contains markings for BAe Hawk T.1A trainers from the later period of service, when these machines wore a uniform dark all-black finish. The package is an accessory for a model already under way or finished and contains no plastic parts.
The BAe Hawk is a British single-engined two-seat subsonic aircraft intended for advanced pilot training. The T.1A version came about by modifying some of the machines built so that they could carry armament and also carry out supplementary duties. In the later years of operation a uniform black surface replaced the earlier conspicuous training finishes, which reduced the demands of maintaining the exterior and changed both the look and the layout of the markings.
On a deeply dark base every shortcoming of coverage shows, so take the sheet into account when you plan the painting. Let light decals cure thoroughly once laid on and only then judge whether the base is showing through, because assessing them shortly after application leads to hasty intervention. An item that covers weakly is better backed with a second piece than touched in with a brush, because a painted-in edge is clearly visible on a black surface. Let the decal drip after soaking, but lay it onto a slightly damp surface so that it can be moved into exact position. Blot the excess water away with a paper tissue pressed on without rubbing, and unify the finished markings with their surroundings with a final varnish of the sheen you have chosen.
