This plastic kit in 1:32 scale in packaging by Hobby 2000 represents the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-2 fighter in the execution for the Eastern Front. The set combines proven injected parts (Hasegawa molds) with photo-etched parts, masking stencils and quality Cartograf decals for several machines deployed on the Eastern Front.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 F was one of the most technically balanced versions of the famous German fighter. The F-2 variant introduced an aerodynamically cleaned-up airframe and was deployed at the beginning of the fighting on the Eastern Front, where a number of well-known pilots flew it. Compared with the later versions it stood out for better handling with a lighter armament.
The larger 1:32 scale rewards careful work on the cockpit and the landing gear, which should be finished before the fuselage is closed. The masks supplied make it easier to paint the glazing cleanly. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals and flatten the surface afterwards. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue. Complete the period camouflage with light shading and wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
