HK Models 1:32 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Late Production is a large plastic kit of the American four-engine heavy bomber in its late production form, in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of an unassembled and unpainted model of the American B-17G heavy bomber. The Late Production designation refers to the later production blocks of the G version, which differed from the early aircraft in details of the armament and the glazing. In 1:32 scale this is a very large model that deserves a place of its own in a display case.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber with radial engines, used above all on daylight bombing operations over Europe. The G version was the most numerous and the most heavily armed variant. A characteristic feature was the additional gun turret under the nose, which answered head-on attacks by fighters. On the late production blocks the arrangement of the waist gun positions and of the tail was further modified.
Build the model in subassemblies. Paint and weather the extensive interior, the bomb bay and the gun positions before you close the fuselage, because later you will not reach them. The radial engines stand out after a pass with the dry brush. Mask the glazing and the gun turrets, and on a natural metal finish use metallic paints only over a smooth, perfectly polished surface and spray them at the end, because they are hard to overcoat and to mask. Lay a gloss varnish under the decals, and a final matte or satin varnish will even the surface out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
