This is an exterior 3D decal of the control surfaces from Quinta for the Macchi MC.202 Folgore kit in 1:32 scale (intended for the Italeri kit). It is not an airplane model but a detail set that brings a realistic relief of the moving surfaces, the rudder, the elevators and the ailerons, onto the surface of the model. On the real aircraft these surfaces were covered with fabric over a rib structure, so their surface has the characteristic hollows between the ribs and a suggestion of stitching. The 3D decal imitates that fine relief faithfully, straight on the plastic.
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore (lightning) was an Italian fighter of the Second World War. Thanks to its license-built German Daimler-Benz inverted V12 and its clean aerodynamic shapes it was among the best performing Italian fighters of its day, and it was used on most of the fronts where Italy fought.
Cut the parts out and apply them like decals onto smooth, cleanly painted surfaces. To make a decal adhere to the surface and to the relief, press it down with a soft cotton swab so that it draws into the hollows. A decal softener does not belong here, as it attacks the print. Finish the painting and the weathering (the shadows between the ribs) only once everything has dried.
A detail set, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
