Photo-etched engine cowling fasteners for First World War aircraft in 1:32 scale, 50 pieces are an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. They replace the fasteners on cowlings and panels that are missing or only suggested.

A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Brengun holding fifty fasteners of the kind with which the sheet metal cowlings and removable panels of First World War aircraft were secured. The set is not a kit: it is an accessory to a model in 1:32 scale that you already have, and it serves to keep the surface of a cowling from staying smooth and lifeless.
On the aircraft of that time the sheet metal parts around the engine were taken off at practically every servicing and their fastening was well seen. On a model, however, this is a feature that an injection mold manages only as a shallow recess or a fine raised bump. A photo-etched part has the right outline, stands out from the surface only by the thickness of the sheet and casts a real shadow in the light, which is precisely what tells a surface that looks like sheet metal from a surface that looks like plastic. Fifty pieces also give enough margin, because when working with parts of this size a few always get lost.
Work over a light surface with a low rim, so that a part that flies off does not end up in the carpet. Cut the tab with a scalpel and carry the part over with a moistened toothpick or tweezers with fine jaws. Apply the glue to the model, not to the part: make a minute dot of super glue with a pin and settle the part into it. Mark the layout in advance in pencil or follow the engraved lines on the model, so that the fasteners sit at regular spacings. They are painted over a primer along with the whole cowling, and a final dark wash then creates a shadow around each fastener that brings the small detail out.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
