A resin set of figures of the crew of the Grumman F-14 Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:32 scale from the production of the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. A large model of the Tomcat is a dominant feature of a display case in itself, but with a crew in modern flying kit it gains scale, life and the atmosphere of a flight deck.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat, a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-geometry wing, served from the 1970s until 2006 and became one of the most famous aircraft of the Cold War. Its crew consisted of a pilot and a radar operator, both in the typical kit of naval aviation: a flight suit, a pressure vest, a harness and a helmet with a visor. It is precisely this kit that is a rewarding painting subject full of straps, buckles and accents of color.
Wash the figures free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. After a primer, paint with acrylics or in oils: green and gray tones of the flight suits, darker vests and harnesses, helmets with the colored elements of the squadron of your choice. Shadows in the folds and fine highlights will give the characters volume; the figures will come into their own by a model on a deck as well as on a base beside the machine.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
