1:32 Curtiss SB2C-4 Helldiver undercarriage bay paint masks is a Dead Design set for covering the landing gear bays while the airframe is painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masks that cover the inside of the landing gear bays so that the top shade cannot get into them while the airframe is sprayed. They have nothing to do with the canopy; they deal with a completely different part of the model.
On a real aircraft the inside of a bay usually has a different shade from the outer surfaces, and on a model it is painted first. If it were left uncovered, the top color would change its tone and the transition at the edge would be blurred. A pre-cut mask fits the shape of the opening, so the edge between the bay and the airframe stays crisp and you do not have to stuff the opening laboriously with paper or modeling putty. In 1:32 scale the bays are large and clearly visible when the finished model is seen from below, so a clean edge pays off.
The procedure is set: first spray the inside of the bay and let it dry, and weather it straight away if you intend to, because later you will have trouble getting at it. Only then apply the mask and carry on with the shades of the airframe. You are working in the depth of the part, so help yourself with long-jawed tweezers and a blunt toothpick to press the mask down all the way around. Spray at a slight angle from the edge of the bay outward, so that the air pressure does not lift the edge of the mask. Take the mask off once the paint has set and check whether it has crept under anywhere; a small bleed inside the bay can be repaired with a brush.
