1:32 Dornier Do 335A-10 - masks is a masking set from HGW for the two-seat trainer version of the German Do 335. It is not a model of the aircraft but self-adhesive masks that make spraying the glazing of a model in 1:32 scale easier.

This item is not a kit of the aircraft. It is a masking set for a model of the Do 335 in the A-10 version in 1:32 scale. The pre-cut self-adhesive masks are stuck onto the clear parts, the paint is sprayed over them and once they are lifted a crisp boundary stays between the frame and the clear area.
Mind the choice of version - the A-10 is the two-seat trainer conversion with a second, raised station behind the pilot, whereas the single-seat and combat versions have a different cockpit canopy. The shape of the glazing changes fundamentally with that, and a mask for one version will therefore not fit the other. Check the version against the kit you have.
The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil was a German aircraft with an unusual tandem arrangement of its power: the forward engine drove a tractor propeller, the rear engine a pusher propeller at the end of the fuselage. The arrangement removed the asymmetric thrust on the failure of one engine. The A-10 version came about as a two-seat trainer conversion, in which the second station was placed higher so that the instructor could see over the pilot's head. Only a small number of machines of the whole type were built.
First wash and degrease the clear parts, or the mask will not hold and the paint will creep under it. Move the masks with tweezers and press them down with a blunt point, above all in the corners and on the curved areas. Spray thin coats; a heavy coat will leave a step at the edge. Lift the mask off while the paint is dry only to the touch. Before you start spraying the color of the frames, it pays to spray them first in the shade of the interior, so that the frame looks right from the inside as well.
The masks are an accessory for a kit. The kit itself and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
