This is a sheet of 3D cockpit decals by Red Fox Studio in 1:32 scale, not a kit. The decals have real relief, so once applied the displays, dials and controls stand out above the surface of the panel. The printing is on a gloss backing, thanks to which the instruments read as glazed even without further varnish. The dimensions of the pieces match the cabin of the Academy kit.
The F-16C is the single-seat version of the Fighting Falcon, known to modelers and pilots alike as the Viper. The Block 40 designation corresponds to a later production batch with modified avionics; the two-seat counterpart of the same batch is the F-16D. The cabin equipment differs between the individual blocks, which is why the decal sets are not interchangeable between them.
Before gluing, the raised relief of the instruments is usually sanded off the plastic parts so that the decal seats flat, and the surface is cleaned and degreased. The pieces are carefully taken off the sheet and transferred to the corresponding place in the cabin following the procedure the manufacturer gives on the box. The easiest way is to work on a model under construction, while the cockpit is still uncovered.
