A sizeable plastic kit of the carrier-borne version of the fifth-generation F-35C fighter from the Trumpeter company in the large 1:32 scale. It is an injection-molded kit with a richly delineated surface, an elaborate cockpit and landing gear; the assembled model reaches a length of about 49.5 cm and a span of roughly 41 cm, so it forms a striking centerpiece of any collection.
The Lockheed Martin F-35C is the carrier-borne version of the Joint Strike Fighter program, designed for operation from the aircraft carriers of the US Navy. It differs from the land-based A version and the short-takeoff B version in its larger flying surfaces, strengthened landing gear and a tailhook for landing on a deck. It combines a reduced radar signature, modern sensors and a wide range of external stores.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully, so that the smooth low-observable surface stands out. Given the size of the model, an airbrush and a good primer are worth having; pick the low-reflectance gray shades out with fine emphasis on the panel lines. Finish the cockpit and the wheel wells before you close the fuselage up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
