An Eduard masking set in 1:32 scale for a model of the F-4 Phantom II in the versions given in the name. The ready-made self-adhesive shapes are applied according to a diagram.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is an American two-seat supersonic combat aircraft which became one of the most widely used machines of the Cold War and served with the US Air Force, the US Navy and the Marine Corps and with a number of other operators. You will know it by its upswept wingtips and its drooped horizontal tail surfaces. The set covers the E and J versions, as the product designation states.
A masking sheet in 1:32 scale. The items come cut to finished shapes in self-adhesive material from the factory, so there is no tracing of canopy frames and no cutting of curves out of tape. In a large scale that pays off twice over: a frame is longer, and a mistake on it shows more. The position of the individual masks is shown by the diagram in the package. The masks are shaped for a particular kit.
Wash the glazing first and let it dry. Transfer the mask with tweezers, set it in place according to the diagram and press the edges down with a toothpick. Spray in several light coats; one heavy coat will happily run under the edge. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, lift a corner with a sharp point and pull it away at an angle toward the edge of the part. The Phantom has a two-seat cockpit, so set aside more time for masking than for a single-seat aircraft.
For a modeler who is building the Phantom in 1:32 scale and wants crisp transitions on the frames. The package contains masking sheets as listed by the manufacturer; paints, thinner and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
