A plastic kit of the supersonic F-86K interceptor in the striking large 1:32 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is the export all-weather version of the Sabre family with a radar nose, intended for night and all-weather interception.
The F-86K grew out of the all-weather F-86D (Sabre Dog) version and was developed as a simplified export variant for allied air forces. Instead of a rocket launcher it carried conventional gun armament, and in the nose section a radar under its characteristic cover. It served with a number of European air forces in the 1950s and 1960s, and some of the aircraft came from licensed production.
The large scale rewards careful work on the cockpit and the interior of the nose before the fuselage is closed. Use liquid cement for plastic on the plastic, sand the joints and apply a primer before painting. The metal surfaces typical of the natural-metal era come out best with an airbrush and metallic paints; apply the decals over a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
