Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat in the large 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. It is the earlier version of this workhorse fighter, which can be recognized among other things by the small side windows behind the cockpit. The large scale allows a detailed cockpit, engine section and finely engraved surfaces. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of marking options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The F6F Hellcat became one of the most important carrier fighters of the US Navy in the Pacific. A rugged airframe, a powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine and good armament made it a successful opponent of the Japanese fighters. The F6F-3 version was the first widely used variant and bore the brunt of the fighting from 1943.
Paint the cockpit and the engine and bring them out before you close the fuselage. Mask the clear glazing, the side windows included. Bond the parts with liquid cement for plastic and lay the dark blue Navy finish on with an airbrush over a primer; after a gloss coat apply the decals and bring out the panel lines lightly with a wash. On large sets Trumpeter often supplies rubber tires and small photo-etched parts to refine the detail; the tires can be replaced with resin ones for a more accurate shape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
