Quinta Studio 1:32 F/A-18B is a three-dimensional (3D) interior decal for the two-seat version of the Hornet in 1:32 scale. Both cockpits gain colored, raised detail with no hand painting of the instruments. Base kit: Academy.

This is an accessory set, not a model of the aircraft. Quinta Studio prints the interior elements three-dimensionally and already in color onto decal paper, so the instrument panels, the cockpit side consoles, the control panels and the seat belts have real depth and legible lettering. On the two-seat version the interior work doubles, because the cockpit has two stations one behind the other, and that is exactly where a three-dimensional decal saves the most time and nerves. Dimensionally it follows the Academy kit.
The F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine carrier-borne multirole aircraft. The B version is the two-seat form derived from the single-seat A version: the second seat behind the pilot called for a change to the upper part of the fuselage and a reduction of the internal fuel capacity, but the flight characteristics and the armament remained comparable. The machines served mainly for training and conversion onto the type. In the large 1:32 scale the long cabin glazing is conspicuous and the whole interior is visible through it, so the detail pays off.
Quinta three-dimensional decals are printed on a decal backing paper: the part is dipped briefly in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on gloss varnish, so spray the cockpits first, let the paint cure and go over the surface with gloss varnish; a matte base is a mistake. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution at all, as their chemicals would damage the printed resin layer. The exact procedure is given in the instructions enclosed with the set. Work with smooth-jawed tweezers and seat the parts dry first; on a two-seat cockpit, think out in advance which parts have to be fitted before the fuselage is glued together. Do not paint over the relief; bringing it out with a dark wash is enough.
This is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory set. The Academy base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
