Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic figure in 1:32 scale from Master Box captures a single heavily armed Greek infantryman of the period of the Greco-Persian Wars. It is the first set in a complete series of ancient warriors, in which further hoplites, peltasts and Persian fighters follow on from one another. The model consists of several parts (torso, limbs, weapons and equipment) and offers scope for careful work on the detail of the armor as well as the face.
The hoplite was the backbone of the Greek army in the 5th century BC. He fought in a close formation called the phalanx, protected by a bronze helmet, a breastplate and above all a large round shield called the hoplon, which covered his neighbor at his side as well. His main weapon was a long thrusting spear, supplemented by a short sword. It was precisely the discipline and the cohesion of the phalanx that decided the Greek victories at Marathon and Plataea.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, sand the parting lines down with fine abrasive and glue with thin cement for plastic models. Apply the base with an airbrush, then bring the body and the armor out with the drybrush technique and dark washes into the recesses. The bronze elements come out well with metallic shades followed by darkening, and the fabric of the chiton will take pronounced shading and highlights.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
