Masking templates for the cockpit glazing of a model of the Romanian IAR-81C fighter in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The IAR-81 was a Romanian single-engined combat aircraft of the Second World War, derived from the IAR 80 fighter and powered by a radial engine. It was built in several versions, among them the one designated C. Romanian aircraft are popular with modelers for their unusual camouflage scheme and for the interestingly shaped cockpit with its divided glazing panels.
Masking templates for the cockpit glazing of an IAR-81C model in 1:32 scale. The templates are cut to the shape of the individual panels, so the cockpit frames are outlined by them alone. The scope of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so check before buying that it matches your kit.
Wash and degrease the glazing before masking, but do not touch the inner side. Apply the templates before spraying and press them down all the way around; on curved surfaces a brief warming helps the template follow the shape. Spray the frames in the interior shade first and only then in the outer shade, otherwise the outer color will show through from the inside. Spray thinly and from the edge inward. Lift the mask once the paint has dried and remove any run with a toothpick cut to a wedge, which will not scratch the glass.
The set will be appreciated by modelers building the IAR-81C in the large 1:32 scale, where every cockpit frame is clearly seen and masking by hand with tape would take longer than the spraying itself.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
