1:32 J2M5/6 Raiden in the two-sided rendition: Dead Design shapes for masking the frames from the cockpit as well as from the surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
The difference from the set for the same pair of versions is a single one, but a fundamental one: besides the outer shapes you also get those for the inner surface of the glazing. The framing of the raised cockpit of the late Raiden therefore gets color from both sides and clear plastic stops showing through.
Mitsubishi built the late Raidens at a time when formations of four-engine bombers were flying regularly over the Japanese islands at great altitude. It was against them that the type was intended, and its development aimed at performance in thin air. The reworked cockpit with a higher canopy gave the pilot the field of view that the first production examples lacked, and for the modeler it is the most easily recognizable feature of the whole late series.
Lift the masks gradually and in one direction; if you set about peeling in several places at once, it is easy to overlook a shape left on the part. Then look the finished glazing over against a window, where any remaining adhesive patch shows up as a matte rectangle. Set the cockpit into the fuselage right at the end of the build, after painting and after the protective coat has dried, so that overspray from another part of the model does not mark it.
