Masks for covering the landing gear bays of the Japanese N1K2-J Shiden KAI fighter in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden KAI was a Japanese fighter from the end of the Second World War. It was created by reworking the older N1K1-J: the wing was moved to the low position on the fuselage, thanks to which the landing gear could be shorter and simpler. The landing gear bays are therefore a conspicuous detail on this machine, and nobody looking at the model from below can avoid them.
Masks for the landing gear bays of a model in 1:32 scale. The shape of the masks follows the outline of the bays, so there is no lengthy cutting of strips and no covering of an intricate edge. The set is tied to a particular kit; check the manufacturer's instructions for which one it is intended.
Before applying it, lay the mask on dry and check that it sits in the outline of the bay. Then apply it to a clean, dry and degreased surface before spraying. Press the edges down with a toothpick or the blunt tip of a pair of tweezers, so that paint cannot creep under them. Spray in weak coats and direct the stream perpendicular to the mask, not at an angle under its edge. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dry, slowly and at a shallow angle, so that a layer of the finish does not come away with it. Any remaining edge can be evened out with a brush.
The model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
