Painting masks for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 in 1:32 scale from the maker Artillery models. An accessory for painting rather than a kit: it saves time when masking and holds sharp edges.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive painting masks for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the E-3 version in 1:32 scale. It is neither a kit nor a spare part: the masks are stuck onto the surface, the surface is sprayed and the mask is removed. The result is sharp, repeatable shapes and a marked saving of time over cutting masking tape by hand.
The early Bf 109 E versions differ from one another in the design of the canopy and in the armament, among other things, and it is precisely the shape of the frames that decides whether a mask will seat. The set for the E-3 is therefore not interchangeable with the set for the E-4, which the same maker lists as a separate item. When choosing, go by the version you are building, not just by the Bf 109 type designation.
The base has to be smooth and degreased. Transfer the mask with tweezers, press it along its edge and spray perpendicularly in thin coats, because a thick application runs under the edge. A proven procedure is to spray the cockpit interior shade first and the exterior color afterwards. Remove the mask soon after it dries by pulling a lifted corner at a shallow angle to the surface. Adhesive residue left by a mask kept on too long is removed by mild mineral spirits, not by an aggressive thinner.
This is an accessory for painting, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
