An injection-molded plastic model of the early German Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 fighter in 1:32 scale from the Trumpeter brand. In the large scale the detail of the engine bay and the cockpit stands out; the box holds photo-etched parts and decals for several finishes. The model captures the angular shape of the Emil with its characteristic tailplane struts and square wingtips.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the first mass-produced line of this famous fighter and the main German fighter in the period of the Battle of Britain in 1940. The E-4 version had MG FF/M cannon in the wings and a revised canopy. The aircraft was powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine with direct fuel injection, which gave it good performance in the climb and in the dive. The Emil became one of the symbols of the early phase of the Second World War.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the engine and the cockpit before closing the fuselage; it is advisable to mask the multi-part cockpit glazing. The period segmented camouflage with mottling on the fuselage sides stands out if you apply the transitions with an airbrush in thin coats onto a well prepared surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
