Responsibility details are not available.
A color set from Quinta Studio for the cockpit of a French fighter from the time of the Great War. The open cockpit of period machines is genuinely visible on a model, and this is exactly where the set brings finished color surfaces with three-dimensional relief.
The Nieuport 23 was a close relative of the better-known 17 and belonged among the sesquiplanes, that is biplanes with a markedly smaller lower wing. It was powered by a rotary engine, the structure rested on wood and fabric, and the differences against the previous type lay mainly in the mounting of the onboard machine gun and in small changes to the airframe. French pilots and airmen of British units flew it, and for its day it was an agile machine.
The fittings of a period cockpit are simple, and that makes every inaccuracy stand out all the more. Work out in advance where the control cables will run and where the seat will go, and deal with the color surfaces only once the internal structure of the fuselage is finished. Line the edges of the individual pieces up against one another so that no visible steps appear between them. With period aircraft it also pays to keep comparing the appearance with references, because individual airframes differed from one another.
