1:32 North American SNJ Texan, the US Navy is a decal sheet from the brand Caracal Models for models of the naval version of the Texan trainer aircraft in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not the model itself.

A sheet of decals in 1:32 scale intended for models of the North American SNJ trainer aircraft, that is the naval version of the celebrated Texan. The package contains a printed decal film and instructions with the schemes according to which the markings are placed. It is not a kit: the model, paints and glue are not part of it. The North American T-6 Texan was among the most widespread advanced trainer aircraft of its time. The US Navy operated it under a designation of its own, SNJ. It was a two-seat all-metal low-wing monoplane with a radial engine and a retractable undercarriage, which served for the advanced training of pilots before they moved on to combat types; some of the machines were adapted for practicing carrier duty. Training machines carried a conspicuous, clearly visible coloring and relatively rich lettering and numbers, so with this type a quality decal sheet is recognized at first glance.
The basis is a gloss base. A gloss varnish laid on creates a continuous smooth film without the micropores in which air would be closed in under the decal, and it is exactly that which causes unsightly silvering. Let the paint cure properly, only then varnish, and lay the decals only onto the dried gloss. In 1:32 scale the individual decals are larger, they are easier to hold with tweezers and easier to straighten, but all the more is every unevenness or graininess of the base visible under them. It therefore pays to polish the base lightly before varnishing.
A decal sheet is not a kit. It does not contain the model, paints or glue. The particular variants and the contents of the sheet are given on the packaging.
