Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss P-40B Warhawk fighter, designated Tomahawk IIA in its British export form, in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. This large and detailed model offers a richly furnished cockpit, a paneled engine bay and glazing. The large scale shows the extent of the detail to advantage; the kit usually contains photo-etched parts as well.
The P-40B was an early version of the famous Curtiss P-40 fighter, powered by the Allison V12 engine. It was marked out by the characteristic radiator fairing under the engine and became one of the symbols of the start of the war in the Pacific. In British and Allied service it flew as the Tomahawk, and it became most famous with the Flying Tigers volunteer group in China, where the machines carried the iconic shark mouth on the nose.
Finish the cockpit and the engine bay first, and only then close up the fuselage. Protect the glazing with masks and glue it with canopy glue. Spray a primer as the base, then the camouflage scheme; pick the panel lines out with a wash and suggest the wear gently with a dry brush and chipped paint. Add the shark mouth and the markings from the decal sheet, which shows to advantage in this scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
