A set of color elements for the cockpit of a P-40M model in 1:32 scale. The elements are printed, with raised relief and color printing, so the details of the interior read as fully modeled even without laborious hand painting. The form is prepared for the Trumpeter kit, so the shapes and dimensions are based on that model. The extent of the set and the placement of the individual elements you will find in the instructions included in the package.
The elements are applied like a decal. Cut the piece out of the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own: it holds most reliably on a gloss varnish, that is on a coat of Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22, and on intricate surfaces a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as their chemicals will attack the printed resin. Paint the base and let it dry completely before you seat an element, because underneath it there is no more painting. Check the seating from the side so that the element beds down over its whole area. Finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage and fit the glazing.
The P-40 was a single-seat fighter of the Second World War, recognizable by its long cowling and angular cockpit canopy. The M version belongs to the late forms of the line. In 1:32 scale you can see into the cockpit under the glazing really well, and that is exactly why it pays to spend time on the interior.
The set suits modelers who build the P-40M in 1:32 scale and want a legible interior without painting small details with a brush. It is an accessory for a kit, so the model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
