Eduard 1:32 P-51D engine is a photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for refining the powerplant of the famous P-51D Mustang fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:32 scale adds fine metal detail to the engine area of the P-51D Mustang fighter. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit: the set contains thin photo-etched parts that replace or complement simplified plastic elements and markedly raise the fidelity of the powerplant.
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War, powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine in the version built under license by Packard. The Mustang excelled in range and became the escort fighter for Allied bombers over Europe. A detailed rendering of the engine is one of the favorite features on models in large scales, which can be displayed with the cowling panels off.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends on a photo-etch bending tool or against a ruler. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate); for painting, use a primer for metal and then shades matching the real powerplant. Degrease the parts before gluing them on.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
