This is a detail accessory, not a kit. The interior features are printed in relief, are supplied already painted and are carried on decal paper, so they transfer onto the cockpit parts in the same way as ordinary decals. The result is a three-dimensional interior with legible instruments, without the modeler having to take on the bending of photo-etch or the painting of tiny dials. The name gives the kit the set is cut for and states that this is the smaller version of the set, so do not judge the contents by the full variant.

The real subject

The P-51D is the definitive production version of the Mustang, with a bubble canopy, a lowered fuselage spine and a Merlin engine built under American license. Thanks to its great range it escorted bomber formations all the way to targets in Germany, and after the war it served with a number of other users. On this type the cockpit is markedly on show thanks to the large transparent canopy, so in 1:32 scale a carefully done interior tells on the final impression of the model more than in small scales.

Usage tips

• Go over the base under the features with a gloss varnish; on a matte surface the feature will not hold.
• Move the feature with a soft brush and plenty of water, not with a fingernail.
• Do not use decal softener or setting solution; the chemicals would damage the printed resin.
• Once dry, check that it lies down in the corners and along the edges, and settle it with a damp brush if needed.
