1:32 P-51D Mustang - 3D instrument panel, updated version (Red Fox Studio)

This accessory is a pre-painted three-dimensional instrument panel of colored resin, not an aircraft kit. It is the updated version of the set, meant for P-51D Mustang models in 1:32 scale. The panel is faithfully painted, with legible dials and imitated gloss on the instrument glasses.

The real subject

The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat fighter of the closing stage of the Second World War. Thanks to its Merlin engine and its long range it escorted bombers deep over enemy territory. The bubble canopy gave the pilot an excellent all-round view.

Use and fitting

• Separate the part from its carrier frame and glue it in place of the original panel.
• Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is ideal; modeling PVA glue can be used as well.
• The surface is finished; the dials do not have to be painted in.

• Modelers who want to detail a cockpit strikingly and quickly.
• Builders who are not satisfied with the flat instrument panel from the base mold.
• Collectors of the larger scales, where the interior is clearly visible.
