An accessory photo-etched set for a model of the British Sopwith F.1 Camel biplane fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but a set of fine metal parts that replace or supplement the less detailed portions of a plastic kit, above all in the cockpit and on the exterior.
The Sopwith Camel was one of the most successful British fighters of the First World War. It was famous for its agility and for the idiosyncratic handling that came from concentrating the weight of the engine, the armament and the pilot in the forward fuselage. It has a great many victories to its credit and is among the icons of aviation of 1917 and 1918.
The parts are cut from the fret, bent with a bending tool or a ruler and bonded with super glue or epoxy. With etched parts in bare metal it is advisable to degrease the surface and apply a primer before painting. The work calls for tweezers and patience.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
