A pair of self-adhesive national insignia masks for the Sopwith Triplane, 1:32 size. There are no paints or kit in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sopwith Triplane reached combat units in the spring of 1917 and flew almost exclusively with the squadrons of the Royal Naval Air Service. Three narrow lifting surfaces one above another gave the pilot an unusually free view forward and upward and the machine climbed faster than any rival that stood against it at the time. The most famous was the Canadian group from the tenth naval squadron, whose aircraft carried black-painted front cowlings and whose crews shot down dozens of opponents within a few weeks. It was precisely the reaction to this type that led German designers to triplanes of their own and so indirectly stands behind the famous fighter of the Fokker brand.
A pair of cut films intended for spraying the national circles, 1:32 size. An open cockpit has no glazing, so a glazing mask is quite deliberately missing here. The modeler obtains paint materials himself and will not find plastic components in the package either.
The film holds only as well as you press it down. After sticking it on, go around the edge with the tip of a toothpick or a wooden stick and press square downward, never sideways; the edge then beds down even into shallow unevenness of the covering. Particular attention is needed at the places over the ribs and over the stitched seams, where the surface stands out slightly and where the paint most likes to run under. Only after this step should you reach for the airbrush; pressing down carried out only after the first coat will no longer save anything and paint gets under the film before you notice it.
