The real subject

The Sukhoi Su-25 (NATO code name Frogfoot) is a Soviet, and today Russian, attack aircraft meant for close support of ground forces. The pilot sits in an armored cockpit, a welded titanium bathtub that protects him from fire from below. Two engines, a rugged structure and the ability to operate from improvised airfields made it a tough machine deployed in a number of conflicts since the 1980s. This subsonic aircraft carries heavy armament on a number of pylons under the wings.

Application

• Sand the plastic cockpit parts smooth first, as the 3D decal is applied directly onto them.
• Release the part from the backing paper with tweezers (with some sets a brief dip helps) and offer it up in place. Leave out decal softeners and setting solutions, as they attack the printed resin.
• Press it down gently so that the relief beds into the surface; small parts call for calm and a steady hand.
• The procedure suits more advanced modelers.
