A turned metal accessory in 1:32 scale from the Polish brand MASTER. It replaces the plastic barrels of the Hispano 20 mm cannons including the aerodynamic fairings, as they looked on the Spitfire wing known as the B type. This arrangement combined a pair of cannons with machine guns, with the cannons projecting from the leading edge and covered by their characteristic housings. This is not a kit - it is a replacement part for a model you already own.
In the large 1:32 scale a cannon barrel is a long and conspicuous item on which nothing can be hidden. A plastic part comes out of the mold with a parting line along its whole length that has to be sanded away, and once sanded it is no longer round. It also tends to be slightly bent and the muzzle is blind. Turned metal holds a constant diameter, is straight and concentric, the muzzle has a real bore and the edge is as thin as it should be. The fairing moreover determines exactly where the barrel emerges from the wing - in metal the transition is crisp and symmetrical on both wing halves.
Cut the plastic barrels off at the root and level the surface. Drill the opening with a hand pin vise, gradually and dry. Before you fix them, offer both parts up dry and look at the model from the front: the barrels must project by the same amount and point parallel. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy; in a large scale epoxy is more comfortable thanks to its longer setting time, because you can fine-tune the position. Degrease the metal with alcohol and use a primer for metal. Barrels suit a dark metallic tone obtained by bluing or oxidizing better than a solid color. Fit them only at the end of the build.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
