Fabric covering belonged to the airframes of aircraft from the very beginnings of flight, and on a finished model it is the surface that causes the most trouble. Painting it so that it has both the tone and the structure of a weave while not looking like sprayed plastic is a job of several layers. This sheet replaces that work: it carries a finished pattern of unbleached canvas, that is of cloth which has not been through bleaching and keeps a warm natural tone.
The decal is deliberately semi-transparent, so the color under it shows through and helps determine the final shade. By changing the undercoat you can therefore tune the tone from lighter to darker without touching the sheet itself. Shading is also worked into the printing, which gives the surface depth. The ultra-thin carrier film seats onto the surface with no noticeable step at the edge.
This is a wet decal. The surface under it has to be glossy, or air will be trapped under the film. Cut the piece out to the shape of the area it is aimed at, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it stand until it begins to move on the paper. On the model bring it over to its place, press the water out from under it with a soft brush and add a softener, so that it follows the shape. Coat it over once it has dried.
