Figures of US Navy fire personnel from 1941 to 1945 in 1:32 scale. They round a carrier or airfield display out with a crew tackling a fire.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fire was the most dangerous thing that could happen on board: fuel, ammunition and even paint burned, and there was nowhere to escape to. The US Navy therefore had trained firefighting parties directly among the crew, ready to act within moments. The years 1941 to 1945 in the name delimit the time in which this country waged the Second World War.
The figures give a display action. A firefighting party by an aircraft on a deck or on an airfield turns a static model into a moment the viewer reads at once. In 1:32 scale an adult figure comes out at roughly five and a half centimeters, so the faces and the gathering of the clothing can be seen. The exact number of figures and the division into parts are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry, so that the paint holds. Cut the excess material and the traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the area down. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Painting is done in thin layers with shadow in the folds; with working clothing a gentle dirtying of the lower parts helps, so that a figure does not come across as freshly changed.
For modelers who build a scene with people around an aircraft or a ship. Unless stated otherwise, the model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
