Masks for spraying British roundels onto a model of the Westland Whirlwind F.Mk.I in 1:32 scale, laid out for the Special Hobby kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Westland Whirlwind was a British twin-engine single-seat fighter of the beginning of the Second World War. It was distinguished by its concentrated onboard armament in the nose and by a slender fuselage between two engine nacelles. Only a small series was built, so the Whirlwind remained outside the mainstream and for a modeler it is a rather rarer subject.
Masks for spraying British roundels on a model in 1:32 scale. According to the name they are laid out for the Special Hobby kit, so the size and spacing of the insignia match its parts. A roundel with several concentric circles is among the things a decal does worst: a large diameter means a large film that shines on a matte finish. A sprayed roundel does not have this problem and it takes later weathering just as the surrounding paint does.
The set is for a modeler who builds in a large scale and does not want an insignia on a finished aircraft that looks like a stuck-on label. In 1:32 scale every shortcoming is twice as visible, and the diameter of a roundel is one of the first places where it shows.
Masks are supplied. The kit, paints, decals and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
